ACCURACY IS A CONTINUING DUTY

Corrections Policy

A published page is not the end of the reporting process. When a source changes or we get something wrong, the page should reflect the best available record.

What we correct

We review factual errors, misleading wording, incorrect citations, outdated legislative status, broken source links, material omissions, and identity or attribution errors. Differences of opinion are not corrections, but evidence that a factual statement is wrong always deserves review.

What happens next

  1. We compare the report with the cited official record and any evidence submitted.
  2. We correct confirmed errors and update the page's modification date.
  3. For a material correction, we add a clear correction note rather than silently changing the meaning.
  4. If two pages compete for the same purpose, we may merge them and permanently redirect the weaker page.
  5. If a page cannot be responsibly repaired, staff may exclude it from search or remove it after preserving an internal audit record.
